Mont Joli Price Invites To Front-Runners
Golden Vanity and Pepite Dor were wire-to-wire winners on Saturday afternoon capturing their respective Invitational Paces at Mont Joli Price in Quebec

Golden Vanity won his second consecutive Invite for teamster Pierre Luc Roy and trainer/owner Jean Marc Roy in 2:01.4. The four-year-old Omar Khayam-Love Wave gelding beat out Connely C C (Gilles Berube) by a length while track record holder Buckys Luck finished back in third in the $1,100 event. For Golden Vanity, the win was his second in three starts this year and 18th of his career pushing his earnings to over $23,000.
Pepite Dor was much the best in the $550 Invite winning by 25 lengths in 2:03 for driver Gabrielle St Onge and trainer Charles Gaudreault, who also shares ownership with Maxim Gaudreault. The seven-year-old Largo-Iamgold mare scored her first win in 14 starts this season. A winner of 19 races lifetime, Pepite Dor has banked $29,284.
In the $1,100 Open Pace, D Gs Elpresidente converted a pocket-trip into a one length score in 2:03 for trainer, driver and owner Regis Soucy. Treasure Planet (Sebastien Harvey) and pacesetter Star Freeluck (Roger Caron) finished second and third. The five-year-old son of Electric Stena-Bonnie Rochelle is now two-for-12 in 2009 and has recorded 12 wins lifetime with earnings totaling $19,592.
