Emergency Surgery For Red Mile Announcer
Gabe Prewitt, announcer for The Red Mile, is reportedly recovering after emergency surgery to remove his appendix forced him to leave the announcer's booth
on Thursday night.
According to harnessracing.com, Prewitt's surgery was performed on Friday and the 26-year-old will be hospitalized for a few days. Race secretary Billy Perkins, a veteran announcer himself, filled in for the remainder of the card and will call the track's $2.4 million Night of Champions card of harness racing set for this Sunday.
