Fans watching The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono’s races on Sunday were caught by surprise at the finish of race four when an unexpected entry made a first-over brush.

A goose almost caught fourth-place finisher Firewater Jake and driver George Napolitano Jr. at the wire.

The goose was later seen making his way to the Race Office, possibly to check next Sunday’s condition sheet for a "non-winners of one" race to enter, after a quick trip to the Horsemen’s Bookkeeper for his fifth-place cheque.
