Undefeated two-year-old pacing filly Therealdeal set a divisional track record in just her second career start as she toured the Truro Raceway oval in 1:57.3 during Atlantic Sires Stakes action on Friday evening (July 20).

Therealdeal dominated her rivals in the first 'A' stakes division on the program, worth $7,240, winning by 12-3/4 lengths with Walter Cheverie in tow. She set fractions of :28.1, :59.2 and 1:28.3 before opening up daylight on her filly foes for the 1:57.3 triumph. Woodmere Rio finished second with Cheeky Cherry and Something Reel completing the field, which was scratched down to four starters.

Therealdeal knocked one-fifth of a second off the Truro record for freshman fillies that was set by Darko in the 2008 Maritime Breeders Stakes.

Bred by Blaine Thibeau of Kensington, P.E.I., the Westwardho Hanover-Deviliciously Good filly was purchased for $12,500 at last year's Atlantic Classic Yearling Sale by Jennifer Baxter and Gregory Francis of Windsor, N.S. Joseph Baxter handles the training duties.

Barry Martin's homebred filly Magical Mistress also earned her second straight Sires Stakes win in as many starts, prevailing from the pocket over pacesetter Ma Rebelle (:29, 1:00, 1:30.1) in 1:59.2 for driver Adam Merner. Stephen Gass trains the filly by Camystic out of the Maritime star Meridian Magic. Howmac Sabrina, the other Atlantic Sires Stakes leg one winner, challenged first-up and finished third.

Woodmere Bolt kept his perfect record in tact as well, winning for the third straight time and collecting his second Sires Stakes trophy in one of the $10,160 'A' divisions for male pacers. The Malicious-For All We Know gelding carved out fractions of :30.2, 1:01.3 and 1:31.4 en route to a three-length victory in 2:01 for trainer/driver Earl Smith. Peter Smith, Gerald Morrissey and Arnold Hagen share ownership of the winner, who was followed under the wire by Bobjohnski and Howmac Finale.

Gilles Barrieau drove multiple stakes winners on the card, including Therealdeal's stablemate Elm Grove Nellie and pacing colt Red Dirt Boomer.

Also owned by Jennifer Baxter and Gregory Francis, Elm Grove Nellie prevailed off a two-hole trip behind the 2017 Atlantic Sale topper Woodmere Tango (:30.2, 1:01.4, 1:31.3). The Stonebridge Terror-Emberlee filly kicked home in :28.3 for a maiden-breaking score in 2:00.3. Woodmere Tango finished one and three-quarter lengths behind in second and Woodmere Oleksiak was third.

Barrieau's own trainee Red Dirt Boomer took the first division for the boys, closing off the cover of first leg winner Notorious and defeating that foe by a half-length in 2:02.1. The Malicious-Independent Gal colt was a first-time winner for owner Daniel Ross. Fern Hill Dynamic rounded out the top three finish order.

Barrieau also catch-drove Itssammyfrommiami for the Westwardho Hanover colt's 2:02 first lifetime victory in one of the $2,500 'B' divisions for trainer Lawrence Snow. Owned by breeder Douglas Rankin in partnership with Bill Andrew, the winner is the first foal out of the 2012 Atlantic Breeders Crown champion Carol Alice.

Miss Dynamite D (Image Of Dawn-J J Mistress) took the other 'B' division for fillies in a 2:01.1 romp with Clare MacDonald in the bike for trainer Robert MacLeod. She is owned by Colin William MacLeod and Maria MacLeod.
