Mister X Rallies To Preferred Score
Credit Risk was the early story in Monday’s $8,500 Preferred 3 for horse and gelding pacers, but Mister X picked up the pieces late en route to a 1:54.3 score for driver Jason Ryan.
Credit Risk flew through first-half fractions of :26.4 and :55, but after opening up a big lead he was quickly reeled in by the backfield in the backstretch. Mister X, who got away third, made a three-wide move to the lead at the three-quarter pole in 1:24.3 and after taking the lead he managed to fend off a late rushing Saulsbrook Peach in a time of 1:54.3. Bringhome Theblue grabbed the show dough.
Ken Oliver trains the seven-year-old son of Mister Big-Maddam Luck for Shirley House, Kerry House and Kimberly Inglis. The gelding has won 5-of-21 this season and is a 35-time winner to date. The lion’s share of Monday’s loot put his lifetime bankroll up to $197,726.
