Vernon Main Event To Western Redhot

Western Redhot used come-from-behind tactics for driver Leon Bailey en route to capturing Saturday’s $6,000 feature pace at Vernon Downs, while a pair of driver celebrated four-win performances.

Dark Prince (Adam Capizzano) put up the first two fractions (:26.2, :56.2). Prince Aland (Truman Gale) took over leading the group to three-quarters in 1:25.1.

Western Redhot ($22.80) , who is owned and trained by Dustin Ingraham, flew down the stretch and blew right by to win easily in 1:54. Prince Aland was second with Gingertreefinnegan (John MacDonald) finishing third.

Western Redhot is a five-year-old gelding by Western Ideal. It was his second win this season and his seventh career victory.

Bailey completed the Grand Slam thanks to wins with Credit List ($6.90), Royal Bahama ($8.20) and Sports Vision ($23.00).

John MacDonald had wins with Dunks Brother ($24.00), Macs Black Hat ($7.90), Maradona ($4.60), and Sapient Hanover ($2.20)

Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Friday, June 29 starting at 6:10 p.m.
