Two-year-old fillies were the focus of Friday morning's (June 22) 14-race qualifying session at Woodbine Mohawk Park, with trainer Casie Coleman accounting for three winners.

Soft Wind Hanover was the first of the Coleman students to prove victorious, stalking a slow first quarter from third behind Princess Sarita (Randy Waples) before brushing up the far side and holding off a late lunge from that same rival by a neck in 1:56.2. Jonathan Drury drove the daughter of Sportswriter and Summer Thriller for the West Wins Stable, Mac Nichol, Calhoun Racing Ltd. and Brad Grant.

Drury and Coleman again teamed up with Cafe Society, who swung off second-over cover and kicked home decisively in :26.2 to collar Clearly Better (Doug McNair) in 1:57.1. The West Wins Stable shares ownership of the Betterthancheddar-Bunkhouse Babe filly with Kevin McKinlay and Jim Fielding.

Coleman completed her training treble and the West Wins Stable completed their owning hat trick with Betterthanbad, a 1:58.1 winner in rein to Drury. The daughter of Betterthancheddar and Fit N Bad angled off the pegs on the far turn, overpowered early pacesetter Green Point (Roger Mayotte), and drew clear by 2-3/4 lengths with a :26.4 closing sectional.

Revival Cards (Royal Mattjesty-Fit N Fancy) was fastest among pacers in the morning session, posting a 1:55.4 mile under James MacDonald for trainer Blake MacIntosh and the Hutt Racing Stable, while Kenogami Darling (Sylvain Filion) and Angies Luckeylady (Trevor Henry) shared top trotting honours with identical 2:02 miles.
