Foundonabeach took the $9,000 Open Trot on Saturday, June 16 at Vernon Downs.

Foundonabeach darted to the front and controlled the pace through splits of :29.0, :58.2 and 1:26.3. Owned by Karma Racing Inc. and trained by driver John MacDonald, he held off a late rush by second-place finisher Pier Ho Exotic. Sweet Ashley T finished third.

Foundoanabeach is a seven-year-old gelding by Equinox Bi. It was win number eight on the season and number 24 for his career. He paid $3.80 to win.

Vernon Downs returns to live racing with a special Father's Day Matinee Sunday, June 17 featuring 10 races with a post time at 1 p.m.
