Quebec-Bred Series Continues Tuesday

Trotters will own the spotlight at the Hippodrome 3R Tuesday evening (June 12), as the opening round of the Quebec-Bred Series for four and five-year-olds will take centre stage.

Two divisions will be contested, one for mares and one for horses. After three weeks of preliminary competition, the top eight point earners in the series will come back on Thursday, August 9 for the $30,000 finals.

The mares will be up first in the third race where Y S Suzanne, who was the Future Stars Champion at age two, will return home to H3R from Rideau Carleton Raceway.

In her last start, the five-year-old mare by Angus Hall crushed the field by nine and one-quarter lengths in 1:56.3. She has recorded three wins this season and will start from Post 2 for driver Guy Gagnon.

HP Run Like Mom has also recorded three wins this season, all of which have came at H3R – the fastest a 2:01.1 score. She will start from Post 3 for driver Stephane Brosseau.

Other contenders int eh field will include Lucky Promesses (Post 5), EAU Naturelle (Post 1) and Vanilla Star (Post 4).

A classic rivalry will continue in the horse division, as Holiday Party will again take on Kinnder Dangerous and Capteur De Reve. Other contenders include Majesti Sweetson (Post 1), Orlys Dream (Post 2) and Sometimes When (Post 4).

Post time Tuesday will be at 6:30 p.m.
