In advance of Saturday's star-studded night of stakes eliminations at Woodbine Mohawk Park, the next wave of Standardbreds with superstar aspirations will flood the racetrack on Saturday morning for the first session of two-year-old qualifiers.

The first of 11 qualifiers / baby races heads to the gate at 10:00 a.m. Of those 11 races, pacers compete in eight splits with three for trotters.

Perennial leading stallions the likes of Bettors Delight, Kadabra and Somebeachsomewhere pepper the program on the sire side. In addition, a number of first-crop stallions are represented with promising freshman. Those first-crop stallions include Sunshine Beach (6), E L Titan (3), Captaintreacherous (2), Heston Blue Chip (2), Royalty For Life (2), Uncle Peter (2), Father Patrick (1) and Sweet Lou (1).

A pair of trainers dominate the entries with Blake MacIntosh and Anthony MacDonald responsible for more than half the 84 two-year-olds entered. MacIntosh will unleash 24 freshman on Saturday morning while MacDonald sends out 20.
