Governor’s Plate Lands Title Sponsor

The Prince County Horsemen’s Club has a new title sponsor for the Governor’s Plate at Red Shores Summerside.

Township Chevrolet Buick GMC has agreed to sponsor Summerside’s signature event with the Governor’s Plate celebrating its 50th anniversary on Saturday July 14, 2018.

“On behalf of our horsemen’s club and the harness racing community we want to thank Township Chevrolet Buick GMC for their support,” said PCHC President Kingsley Walsh.

Organizers are working on many new events on and off the track which includes the Summerside Lobster Carnival.

“We have a solid relationship with harness racing and the Lobster Carnival,” said Red Shores Race Manager Adam Walsh. “This season features stakes events, exciting promotions and even special anniversary segments as we honour the 50th running of the Governor’s Plate.”

The 2018 race season gets underway on Monday, May 21 at 1:00 p.m., with Governor’s Plate week starting on Sunday, July 8. The Summerside Lobster Carnival returns from Thursday, July 12 to Saturday, July 14.
