Fox Valley Charm Triples In Preferred
Parked with cover most of the mile, Fox Valley Charm turned in her third consecutive dominating performance in the $20,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace Tuesday, May 8 at The Meadows, exploding late to destroy the field by six and one-quarter lengths.
Aaron Merriman sent Fox Valley Charm toward the front from post eight, but when the duo couldn’t reach the lead or find a seat, they paced three deep on the rim behind the cover of Shesasmokinlady and Camera Lady. When Merriman finally turned her loose, the six-year-old daughter of Yankee Skyscaper-Fox Valley Cherub roared through the lane and scored in a career-best 1:50.4. Graceful Vision rallied wide for second while Show Runner found late racing room for third.
Dirk Simpson trains Fox Valley Charm, who boosted her career bankroll to $276,750, for Peter Karras.
During her three-race streak, Fox Valley Charm has crushed the track’s best distaff pacers by a combined victory margin of 15-1/2 lengths.
