Lifetime Bests In Weiss Consolations
Total Diva and Golden Attitude both took lifetime marks in winning their respective $15,000 consolation events for trotters in the Bobby Weiss Series during the afternoon part of a Derby Day doubleheader at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono. (The pacing consolations did not fill.)
Total Diva headed a 1-3 finish for the Neal Ehrhart barn as the daughter of Donato Hanover never looked back while taking the contest for females in 1:57.1. She won by 2-1/4 lengths over Keystone Tasha, with the Ehrhart-trained Super Trump third. Total Diva is owned by Keystone Trotters LLC.
The Conway Hall gelding Golden Attitude also used engine tactics as he lowered his speed tab to 1:57.2 with a 2-1/2 length victory over Church Choir. The meet’s leading driver, Anthony Napolitano, was in the sulky behind the winner for trainer Johnny Yoder and Kahrig Racing Stable Company.
After a break centering around that big Thoroughbred race in Kentucky today, there will be a 13-race card at Pocono starting at 7:30 p.m., with two divisions of the $100,000 Van Rose Invitational Pace, with the fourteen entrants showing combined earnings a nose under $14 million, and the four $30,000 Championships for the Bobby Weiss Series, on a big card at the mountain oval.
