Stay In Your Place coasted to a gate-to-wire victory for driver Leon Bailey in Saturday’s $7,000 feature race at Vernon.
Stay in Your Place (Mr Wiggles), who is owned by Victor Finocchiaro and trained by Andy Gardner, went to the front and never looked back. The four-year-old set fractions of :26.3, :55.3 and 1:23.4 before kicking home for the 1:52.2 triumph. Drunken Desire A (Justin Huckabone) came on late to finish second, with Ben N Crosby (John MacDonald) taking third.
Stay In Your Place, who won for the third time this season, is now a 10-time winner in his career. He paid $10.00 to win.
Silver Arrow (John MacDonald) captured the first leg of the Anthony Farina Pacing Series.
Silver Arrow (Roll With Joe) threw down fractions of :27.4, :57.4 and 1:27.1 before rolling to the 1:55.3 decision. CJs Roll On Two (Claude Huckabone III) was second, while Back To Motown (Mike Merton) settled for third.
Silver Arrow ($3.40), is owned by Purple Haze Stables and George Wyman while trained by Howard Okusko. He won for the first time this season. The three-year-old colt now has two career victories.
