Coming off a trio of impressive victories, Spy Hard horse Rudy Valentino has been firing on all cylinders for trainer Dustin Jones as of late. On Saturday, August 22, the five-year-old will be looking for its fourth straight win -- something which the ownership connections couldn't be happier about

Prior to July 28, the fastest Rudy Valentino had ever won in was in 1:51.4 at Hippodrome de Montreal. That all changed at Georgian Downs on the aforementioned date when Jones steered the bay to a nine-length victory in 1:51.1. Rudy Valentino followed that effort up with a six and a half-length win in 1:52.1 over Mohawk Racetrack with Keith Oliver. The third win in the string came August 15 over the Campbellville seven-eighths mile strip when Rudy Valentino went wire to wire in 1:51.2.

"The best I could say is [that the] horse is just feeling great," Carmen Perzow told Trot Insider. Rudy Valentino is owned by Jones and Michael Perzow. "With daily turnout, he frolics in the paddock like Puff the Magic Dragon and like a baby -- he just loves his paddock time."

From 71 career starts, Rudy Valentino has compiled a record of 17 wins, six seconds and eight thirds -- good for $268,739 in purses.

"He showed tremendous ability at three, taking his then-mark of [1:] 51.4 with 'Dusty' driving, and was later named three-year-old colt of the year in Quebec," Carmen explained. "Dusty and his staff have worked really hard in bringing him back to his form we knew he was capable of. I think he could be an invitation horse and go in under [1:] 50."

Rudy Valentino has drawn into Mohawk's 13th race on Saturday. Oliver has been listed to steer the Jones charge from Post 4.

The program will feature divisions of the Eternal Camnation Stakes for two-year-old pacing fillies and three divisions of the Nassagaweya Stakes for two-year-old open pacers.
