Inverse Hanover In Hoosier Invitational
Inverse Hanover and driver John DeLong found the winner’s circle for the second consecutive week at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino, this time in the featured event, the $21,000 Fillies and Mares Invitational Pace, on Saturday, April 7.
After a convincing win against conditioned company last week, Inverse Hanover responded gamely to a bump in class to stop the timer in 1:52.4, just missing her recently established lifetime mark by two fifths of a second.
DeLong sent Inverse Hanover away from the gate, firing to grab the early lead from post five through an opening panel in :26.4. Kak’s Shark Attack and Todd Warren quickly grabbed a pocket seat while Wild Wanda and Ricky Macomber Jr. were next in line third.
Inverse Hanover clicked off fractions of :56.3 and 1:25.3 and began to distance herself from the rest of the field. Turning for home, Pistol Packin Mama and Trace Tetrick rallied through the stretch to try to reel in the leader but Inverse Hanover, but settled for second.
Going a :27.1 final quarter, Inverse Hanover finished nearly a length in front of Pistol Packin Mama, with Ubettorbeturlife third. As the 3-5 betting favourite, Inverse Hanover returned $3.20 to win.
Trained by Jeff Cullipher, the daughter of Somebeachsomewhere-Ideal Newton recorded her fourth win of the season from five starts. Inverse Hanover has now won nine of 25 starts lifetime while increasing her lifetime bankroll to $182,980. She is owned by the partnership of Jeff Cullipher and Thomas Pollack.
