Heaven Rocks In Buffalo Feature
Heaven Rocks got to an early lead and maintained control in capturing Buffalo Raceway's featured $9,600 pace on Saturday, April 7 in a seasonal best 1:56.3 over a "fast" track.
Driven by John Cummings Jr., Heaven Rocks started from post two and managed to grab the top by registering a :28.0 opening panel. On the lead, he set middle splits of :57.3 and 1:27.2.
Focus Power and China Dream, who finished second and third respectively, attempted to collar the pacesetter late, but their efforts fell short as Heaven Rocks posted the three-quarter length victory.
Owned by Tessa Roland and trained by JD Perrin, it was the third win in nine tries this year for Heaven Rocks, by Rock N Roll Heaven out of Cheerful Outlook. The six-year-old gelding has now earned $21,430 in 2018 and $149,656 lifetime. He paid $4.10 to win.
Perrin conditioned four winners on the card.
Racing will resume on Wednesday, April 11 at 5 p.m. with a nine-race program set.
