Henry Wins A Handful; Jackpot Hi-5 Hit
It was quite a night for driver Trevor Henry as he reined home five winners on Friday's (April 6) 10-race card at Woodbine Racetrack.
Overcoming the outside post nine and leading all the way in the Friday finale, the lightly-raced three-year-old pacing filly Quite A Sight ($10.90) capped off Henry's five-win performance. The Bob McIntosh homebred won her season's debut in 1:55.4.
Quite A Sight, the 9-2 third wagering choice, led the 10-5-4-7-2 winning combination in the Jackpot Hi-5, which was hit for $91,328.62 (U.S.). Lifelong Dream (at odds of 21-1), Hypnotic Play (7-2), Shadow World (12-1) and Birch Island Betty (12-1) completed the top five order of finish.
Earlier on the card, Henry strung together four consecutive wins beginning in the third race with the David Daigneault-trained pacing mare E R Rhonda, who prevailed by a half-length to spark a $74.40 win payout.
His other wins were courtesy of pacing mare Stellenbosch ($7.70) for trainer Eric Adams, trotter Musical Spell ($6.10) for Mike Guitard, and pacing mare Bernadette ($6.90) for the Ron Adams stable.
The Arthur, Ont. reinsman boasts 62 wins so far in 2018, with earnings over $820,000 ranking among the top five in Canada.
