Bringing Racing To The Masses
In an ongoing effort to attract new fans to the racetrack, entities within the Pennsylvania Standardbred racing industry recently sponsored an evening of live NHL action at PPG Paints Arena, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
As an Official Partner of the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association gave out complimentary tickets to members for a night out at a Pittsburgh Penguins game (on Sunday, March 11). Since the game was sponsored by Meadows Racing, the Meadows Racing logo was scrolled over the screens inside the arena and for people at home watching, to see throughout the night.
The MSOA set up a booth in the arena for all Penguins fans to stop by and see. They were able to take their picture with a life-sized harness horse display, sign up for a chance to win a weekend at the Meadows, and receive a pair of ‘lucky lenses.’
Meadows drivers Richard Stillings, Dave Palone, Mike Wilder, and Jeremy Indof got in on the action by heading to the penalty box to hang out prior to the game.
“The evening couldn’t have been more exciting and fun,” said MSOA Executive Director Kim Hankins. “The partnership with the Pittsburgh Penguins has really given us exposure. We are excited to see what else this year has in store.”
