Father-Daughter Duo To Charlottetown

It’s no surprise that harness racing is a family affair, as many of those in the industry were introduced to the sport through a family member.

The P.E.I. Standardbred Horse Owners Association (PEISHOA) would like to highlight just that, as they welcome both Erv Miller and his daughter Hannah as guest speakers to their annual awards banquet.

Erv Miller has trained over 5,100 winners and earned over $78 million in stakes purses, to make him third on the list of trainers for races won and fourth in earnings. He has trained many great horses such as Loyal Opposition, Shark Gesture, Lis Mara and Manofmanymissions.

Hannah Miller is on the road to become just as successful as her father. In 2015 she became the national amateur driver of the year in the United States and repeated the feat into 2016. Also in 2016 she represented the United States in Hungary at the world cup of amateur racing, finishing second by only a point to give the US the best result ever in the international competition.

The PEISHOA is thrilled to have them both at their annual event. The Awards Banquet will be held April 14 at the Murphy Centre in Charlottetown with reception at 6:30 P.M. and dinner and awards to follow at 7:00 Tickets will be available at the Charlottetown Veterinary Clinic and from any board member.
