Update Regarding Ohio Quarantines
Officials with the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association have provided an update in regard to the EHV-1 quarantines in the state.
In a posting to one of its social media accounts, the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association has stated that it has verified with the Ohio Department of Agriculture's Chief Veterinarian that “no new EHV cases have been reported to date and there is no knowledge of any horse showing clinical signs, or any potential EHV cases at this time in Ohio.”
The post goes onto state that, “Due to the positive report, all Ohio locations under quarantine will be released at midnight tonight, March 5, 2018. That includes the University of Findlay English riding stables, Findlay; Jasper Station Stables, Jamestown; Tuscarawas County, Dover Fairgrounds; private farm near Chillicothe in Londonderry; and, Warren County, Lebanon fairgrounds and all horses housed at those locations are released as of that date and time.”
