The Adrenaline Festival kicks off at Hiawatha Horse Park on Thursday, August 20 and six Xtreme races are planned

for the evening's program.

Fans will be treated to a combo card of Xtreme races and one-mile dashes.

The Xtreme races feature distances ranging from an eighth of a mile, all the way up to a mile and seven-eighths.

Here’s a look at the Xtreme Races:

Xtreme Sprint Classic - 1/8 mile - speed and versatility will be tested to the extreme. Maximum 9 horse field vying for an $8,000 purse and only 1/8 of a mile to prove who is the best.

OPEN (MAX. 9 STARTERS) Purse - $8,000

Xtreme Sprint - 3/8 mile - Starting in the backstretch, this event is for horses which like to give it their all in the opening quarter plus a bit more

FOR HORSES THAT HAVE STARTED IN A $4500 CLAIMER OR LESS IN THEIR LAST START. (MAX. 9 STARTERS) Purse - $4,500

Xtreme Adrenaline – 5/8 mile One lap dash for the cash; starts and finishes in front of the grandstand.

FOR HORSES THAT HAVE STARTED IN AN $8000 CLAIMER OR LESS IN ONE OF THEIR LAST 3 STARTS. (MAX. 9 STARTERS) Purse - $8,000

Xtreme Challenge Pace – 1 ¼ miles; this two-lap race will start and finish in front of the grandstand.

1 1/4 MILE. FOR HORSES THAT HAVE STARTED IN A $12,000 CLAIMING EVENT OR LOWER IN THEIR LAST 3 STARTS.(A/E NW OF $80,000 LIFE)(MAX. 9 STARTERS) Purse - $12,000

Xtreme Challenge Trot - 1 ¼ miles; this two-lap race will start and finish in front of the grandstand.

1 1/4 MILE. FOR HORSES THAT HAVE STARTED IN A $12,000 CLAIMING EVENT OR LOWER IN THE LAST 3 STARTS.(A/E NW OF $80,000 LIFE)(MAX. 9 STARTERS) Purse - $12,000

Xtreme Marathon Trot - 1 7/8 miles - A three-lap test for horses with stamina to spare!

FOR HORSES THAT HAVE STARTED IN A $20,000 CLAIMING EVENT OR LOWER IN THE LAST 3 STARTS(A/E NW $140,000 LIFE)(MAX. 9 STARTERS). Purse - $16,000

First-race post time for Thursday’s card of racing is 7:00 p.m. and admission is only $2 as K106.3, Sarnia’s best rock station, is sponsoring the evening.
