Update On The Meadows
The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has issued an update in regard to the equine herpes and quarantine situation at the Meadows. The five-eighths-mile Standardbred raceway hosted a program of live racing this past Friday (February 23) for the first time in weeks due to the situation.
The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has reported that three barns at the Meadows remain under quarantine for having or previously having EHM horses. A total of four EHM horses have been identified, with an additional eight horses that have tested positive for EHV-1 without neurologic signs in this incident.
The last EHM case was identified on February 23, 2018.
A daily monitoring period for clinical signs in the remaining exposed, asymptomatic horses is ongoing in the quarantined barns.
Updates will be posted as they become available.
