Ms Mac N Cheese Triples In Preferred
Ms Mac N Cheese notched her third consecutive win on Friday night (February 16) to remain undefeated so far this year in Woodbine Racetrack's $30,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace.
Driver Louis-Philippe Roy worked out a perfect pocket trip aboard the Richard Moreau trainee, tracking P L Hurricane, who led through panels of :27.1, :57.4 and 1:25.4 until deep stretch. P L Hurricane rebuffed a first-up Rubis Prescott, but the closers were coming. Emerging from the two-hole, Ms Mac N Cheese collared P L Hurricane in a photo finish for the 1:53.3 victory.
Sent postward as the 8-5 second choice, Ms Mac N Cheese paid $5.30 to win, with her favoured stablemate Witch Dali finishing third.
Ms Mac N Cheese is now a 25-time career winner with earnings totalling $732,992. The six-year-old Badlands Hanover mare is owned by Ratchford Stable NS of North Sydney, Nova Scotia.
The win was the first of three on the 10-race card for Moreau. Canada's five-time Trainer of the Year also sent out Friday night winners Optima Kemp ($6.50) and Bettim Jackie ($6), both driven by Roy.
