Clinton Raceway’s Legends Day has just added a tribute to another harness racing 'Legend' to its stellar line-up of attractions on Sunday, August 23

.

A special Farewell Party that afternoon will provide a fond salute to talented track announcer Frank Salive.

Clinton general manager Ian Fleming is issuing an open invitation to Salive's many friends and admirers to attend the post-race event to honour the 54-year-old London, Ont. resident that heads stateside in early September to fill an announcing and broadcasting role at Florida’s Pompano Park.

“It’ll be a chance for all of us to wish Frank the best in his new position and to celebrate his singular contribution to Ontario racing over the years,” said Fleming.

Salive was the distinctive voice of harness racing on the Woodbine Entertainment Group circuit for 14 years before choosing to wind down and work for Western Fair Raceway and some smaller Ontario raceways in 2005.

This year’s Legends poster will include Salive’s photo and he’ll join the drivers in signing autographs for the fans.
