Prix De France To Belina Josselyn
After a Post 3 start and a bit of a mid-race shuffle, the Jean-Michel Bazire-driven Belina Josselyn came on with a late surge to collar Bold Eagle by a head on Sunday (February 11) in the €400,000 Grand Prix de France at the Hippodrome de Vincennes.
After having been sent off at odds of 5-1 in the 2,100-metre autostart event, Bazire and the seven-year-old mare eventually got themselves into a favourable striking position on the outside. When the money was on line, Belina Josselyn (Love You-Workaholic) accelerated off of cover and was game for a well-timed win in the second leg of France’s 2018 Triple Crown.
Bold Eagle held on for second along the inside, while Propulsion finished third in between the combatants.
The mile-rated win time in the one and five-sixteenths-mile contest was 1.53.
Owned by her breeder, Yvan Bernard, Belina Josselyn has now won 18 of her 46 career starts and has banked €1,442,230 in purse earnings.
