Mike & Mike Team With New Vocations
Post Time with Mike and Mike presented by BetAmerica is excited to announce a campaign to give back to harness racing in 2018.
The duo will be working with New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program to promote a year of giving in 2018. New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program was founded in 1992 to help offer some retiring racehorses a safe-haven, rehabilitation, and continued education through placement in experienced, caring homes. Over 6,000 retired Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds have been placed in qualified homes through New Vocations’ efforts since its inception. New Vocations currently has two scenic Ohio locations in Laurelville and Marysville. Other locations include: Lexington, Kentucky; Hummelstown, Pennsylvania and Fort Edward, New York.
Mike and Mike correspondent Jessica Otten will write a monthly story featuring one of New Vocations' retirees that they have worked with. Stories of their horses will include a back story of their racing days and highlight some of their career achievements. Mike and Mike will work to talk to previous connections to find out some of the quirks that made some of the horses tick.
"We are thrilled that the Post Time Show with Mike and Mike wants to focus on aftercare this year. It is such an important part of harness racing that has made huge strides in the past few years. By focusing on horses that have gone through New Vocations and excelling in their new careers is a positive way to continue to shine a light on our retired athletes," said Winnie Morgan Nemeth, the Standardbred Program Director for New Vocations.
New Vocations will have a Post Time with Mike and Mike donation button on their website to help listeners of the show contribute to the program easily. Mike and Mike will highlight the New Vocations process during each of their Thursday morning shows. Mike and Mike will announce further ways to donate through their program once plans have been finalized.
You can listen to Post Time with Mike and Mike presented by BetAmerica every Thursday morning at 10:30 AM via their website at posttimewithmikeandmike.com or on the archive at betamerica.com/BARN.
