Greystone Cash Repeats In Signature Series
The second leg of the Signature Pacing Series headlined Saturday afternoon’s program at Flamboro Downs and Greystone Cash made it two in a row with his victory in the first of two $10,000 divisions
.
In the first split, Wildmotion (Mark MacDonald), a winner in the opening leg, set up shop on the front and paced past panels of :27.3, :57 and 1:25, but Anthony Haughan rolled Greystone Cash first-over from third at the halfway point and collared the pacesetter at the top of the stretch before pulling away by a length and a half to win in 1:53.4.
Wildmotion stayed for second and Pieraz (Roger Mayotte) closed well for third.
Greystone Cash, a three-year-old son of Million Dollar Cam-Speedy Helen, is trained by Bruce Goit for owner Patrick Ryan of London, Ont. The win was his ninth in 17 starts lifting his earnings to $81,335.
In the second division, Mystique Cruiser and driver Mike Langdon, who scored five wins on the 12-race card, cruised wire-to-wire for the 1:54.2 victory by three-quarters of a length over Imbadimnationwide (Dan Clements) with Fact Of Fame (Simon Allard) finishing third.
The Dan Ater pupil scored his fifth career win in 19 starts and bumped his bankroll to $61,494. The Yankee Cruiser-Miss Deeds three-year-old gelding is owned by Green Racing Inc. of Milford, Delaware and Larry Baron of Horsham, Pennsylvania.
