Kopiec Promoted At The USTA

Michele Kopiec, who has worked at the United States Trotting Association since 1999, has been promoted to Racetrack Operations and Licensing Manager for the organization.

In addition, she has been named as the USTA’s alternate representative to the board of directors of the Racing Officials Accreditation Program.

Previously as a USTA racetrack support (RTS) specialist, Kopiec assisted in developing and implementing the USTA eTrack and online entry systems as well as providing support for driver, trainer, official and Racing Under Saddle licensing, all of which she will now manage with her new responsibilities.

Also, Kopiec will support Director of Registry T.C. Lane with regulatory administration and continue to assist in the planning and execution of the USTA Driving School, Officials educational programs and the board of directors’ annual meeting.

A lifelong harness racing enthusiast, Kopiec was introduced to harness racing by her father, who worked for Delvin Miller at the Meadows. Prior to her employment at the USTA, she worked for Whitehorse Farm, Scioto Downs and the late Walter ‘Boots’ Dunn.

Michele graduated from Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pa., and holds a B.S. in Large Animal Science, pre-veterinary science. She is also an organizational advisor for the Ohio 4-H program and enjoys singing.
