Hippodrome De Montréal Razing Tag $9M
The deconstruction of the former Hippodrome de Montréal will cost at least $9.5 million, according to a report from the Huffington Post.
The Hippodrome, originally known as Blue Bonnets, has been dormant since hosting its final race in November of 2008 and closing permanently the following year. Plans for redevelopment had stagnated, but resumed in 2017 when the Québec government ceded the land to the City of Montréal.
The City is hopeful that the redevelopment of the property, possibly for residential use, can increase the value of the land to nearly $2 billion.
