Boomboom Ballykeel Blasts To Victory
Boomboom Ballykeel overcame an outside post position for a front-stepping score in the $11,500 Preferred 2 Pace featured on Sunday night's (December 17) harness racing card at Flamboro Downs.
With Louis-Philippe Roy in the bike for trainer Ricard Moreau, Boomboom Balleykeel blasted to the lead and carved out fractions of :27.3, :57.1 and 1:25.2 en route to the one-length victory in 1:54.2. Strato Boy followed in the pocket and finished second while Lets Wait And See journeyed first-up for third-place honours.
Sent postward at odds of 6-1 from post eight, Boomboom Balleykeel paid $14.70 to win.
The Ballykeel Racing homebred sired by Mach Three notched his eighth win of the season and has now banked more than $80,000 in purses from 38 starts. A career-winner of more than $836,000, the six-year-old pacer has finished first 29 times overall.
A pair of $8,500 Preferreds 3 were won by the Tim Myers-trained Reel ($3.90) with driver J Harris aboard and mare Tilikum ($7.50) in rein to Denis St. Pierre for trainer Tiffanee Staley.
