Top Finishes For Chappell Trainees
A 1-2 finish in Sunday's seventh race at Fraser Downs wrapped up a perfect day at the track for trainer John Chappell.
The Surrey, B.C. horseman won all three races he competed in during Sunday's 11-race card to push his win totals to 37 on the year and 629 lifetime.
Owned by Ross Sharp of Campbell River, B.C., veteran pacing mare Alley Scat ($15.30) converted off a pocket trip to complete Chappell's training triple with Brad Watt aboard while Krystal Pistol, driven by Chappell himself, came through inside for second-place honours in a 1:58.2 mile over the sloppy track.
Chappell also won the opener with three-year-old filly Shes A Vixen ($3.10) for owner/breeder Evert Vandenborn of Langley, B.C., and the third race with five-year-old mare Fast Lane Firebolt ($5.10) for owner Mark Heinbuch of Kitchener, Ont.
In other action, the Gord Abbott-trained filly

Paul Davies drove the Dragon Again miss, who faced four older rivals in a field with three scratches, for Alberta-based owners Lorne Duffield, Jean Crochetiere and Rod Hennessy.
