London Preferred To Goldstar Badlands
First-over trips don’t seem to bother Goldstar Badlands, and if you don’t believe it just check out his Monday evening victory in the $9,000 Preferred 3 for horse and gelding pacers at The Raceway at Western Fair District.
Goldstar Badlands got away fourth in the 1-1/16 mile affair while Beach Terror marched to the top and took the field through first-half fractions of :27.2 and :57.4. Goldstar Badlands was on the move going to the half, and he was second and just a length away from Beach Terror at the three-quarter station in 1:27.2.
Goldstar Badlands worked his way to the lead and managed to fend off a late rush from race favourite Bringhome Theblue to win by three-quarters of a length in 2:03.4. Down On My Luck was third.
Heather Toll trains the seven-year-old son Badlands Hanover-Rockin Lady for owner Morley Bradshaw of Wilsonville, Ont. The 30-time winner now owns a 10-1-1 record from 27 trips to the track this season. He’s banked over $56,000 this year and more than $210,000 in his career.
