Unwanted Intruders Removed From Track
News of some unwanted intruders at an Ontario racetrack has made the news – 18 unwanted intruders, to be exact.
According to an article by Bayshore Broadcasting, the recent sighting of a skunk near a horse barn at Hanover Raceway was enough to get track officials to call someone to get the black and white menace removed.
What was ultimately found and removed was a surfeit of skunks – 17 when all was said and done – and a possum.
Hanover Raceway Director Steve Fitzsimmons told Bayshore Broadcasting that work at the track has already started in anticipation of the upcoming 2018 season of live racing.
Fitzsimmons also said that Hanover’s racing numbers were ‘up a little’ in comparison to 2016. He also stated that Hanover has already applied for race dates for next season and that a marketing plan is currently being crafted.
