Trainer Victor Puddy celebrated his 2,000th career victory on Friday (November 24) as Show Me Some Magic ($3.20) won the evening's sixth race at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

Alfie Carroll drove the popular Puddy trainee to a front-end victory in 2:08.2 in the sixth race for $15,000 claiming mares. The three-year-old Mach Three filly won by two and a quarter lengths over pocket-pursuer Poppy Pomfrey and I Confess. Puddy trains Show Me Some Magic for owner/breeder Bruce Cleaver of Corbyville, Ont.

Puddy has won 107 races so far in 2017 with his stable earning $1.24 million -- just under $100,000 shy of his career-best campaign in 2014 with over a month left on the calendar. He currently sits second for wins in The Raceway's 2017 trainer standings, which he topped the past two seasons, and fourth nation-wide.

The evening's featured $8,500 Preferred 3 for fillies and mares was won by Pinky Tuscadero
($12.30), who held off Leaving A Legacy by a half-length in 1:57.3 with Mike Horner in the bike. Trainer Mark and Stephanie Horner bred and share ownership of the five-year-old Artistic Fella mare.
