Campbell’s Troops Triple Up
The Sunday afternoon program at Evergreen Park belonged to trainer/driver Brandon Campbell, who made three trips to victory lane
on the over the course of the 11-race program.
Campbell, who hails from Calgary, AB, got things rolling with Clintons Escape in the second race. The rookie son of Clintons Cigar front-stepped to a 2:01.4 for owners Allan Neurauter of High River and George Young of Calgary, AB.
Red Star Sammy’s 1:57.3 score in the sixth race gave Campbell his second victory thanks to his off-the-pace decision for owner Bill Andrew of Calgary, AB. Dance Me Loose completed the hat-trick for Campbell, who used a come-from-behind approach to win the tenth race with the four-year-old daughter of Northern Dynasty. Campbell shares ownership on the mare with partner Jodi Loftus of Calgary, AB.
The three-win performance bumped Campbell’s 2009 win total to 28 in the training department, while his earnings shot up to $145,789.
