Gagnon Wins Seven At Rideau
On a snowy night in Ottawa, Guy Gagnon blazed around the Rideau Carlton oval, piloting seven winners on the ten-race program Thursday, November 9.
Scoring a hat trick in the first three races, Guy Gagnon piloted favourites Chaleurs Melodie ($4.90), Persuaded ($3.30), and Captain Dragon ($5.20) to victory. Chaleurs Melodie, owned by Elevage Baie Des Chaleurs and trained by Carl Duguay, won in 1:58.3, and Persuaded, owned by Dr. Ruth Irving and Debbie Brooks and trained by Dr. Gareth Henry, won in 2:00.3. Captain Dragon, who Gagnon conditions for owner Yves Ringuet, won in 1:56.2.
Gagnon's next three wins came for trainer Jamie Copley, winning with Kingston Seelster ($2.70) in 2:00.2 for owners Edward Gorc and Mike Brealey, Olivias Way ($3.10) in 1:57.3 for the Copley Stables, and Sports Royalty ($2.90) in 2:03, also for the Copley Stables.
Finally, Gagnon rode a pocket trip with Skyfall Sena ($8.10) to grab his seventh win on the card, winning by two lengths in 1:57 for owner-trainer Alain Martin.
