Summerside Feature To Allstar Seelster
Allstar Seelster was upset bound in the Sunday afternoon featured pace at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The Ed Harvey-owned and trained pacer was sent to front at 6-1 odds in the $2,100 top event by driver Norris Rogers and he laid down fractions of :28.2, :58 and 1:27.1 without a legitimate challenge at any point in the mile. Allstar Seelster closed out the mile by a five-length margin in 1:57 with the pocket-sitting Heart And Soul (driven by Walter Cheverie) finishing second and J Rs Hurricane (Adam Merner) completing the $272.30 triactor.
Machinthesand captured the the back-up pace as one of four winners on the day for driver Ken Murphy. Murphy pointed the son of Mach Three to the lead and never looked back en route to a 1:57.3 victory for Summerside owners Noonan Holdings and Russell and Karen Noonan. The $1,800 event saw Artist List (Merner) finish second and Toad River (MacPherson) third. Murphy's other wins were with Shouldabeenaclown in 2:00.4 for Edgar Stewart of Ellerslie, Alberta Sky in 1:58.3 for trainer Eric Doucette of South Rustico and with Windsun Kenda in a 1:58.3 score for trainer Eddy Doucette of Kensington.
Jason Hughes had two driving winners on the program.
