The champion son of Western Paradise was trained the entirety of his career by Clare MacDonald in Nova Scotia while banking over $82,000 but moved to the care of George Riley recently to finish fourth Wednesday night in Summerside. He now moved to the care of Nine Mile Creek trainer Cheverie and gets installed as second choice at 3-1 odds Sunday afternoon.
Eagle Jolt is the morning line choice from the outside in the six-horse field for trainer-driver Marc Campbell while Ultimatelyhandsome has rail control with Jason Hughes in the bike for trainer Sifroi Melanson. J Rs Hurricane leaves from Post 3 fresh off a pair of wins for driver Adam Merner and trainer Jean Charles Belliveau. Mando Fun has been the bridesmaid in recent events with three seconds and a third in his last four starts and gets Kenny Arsenault back in the bike Sunday. Post 5 has Allstar Seelster at 7-2 odds for driver Norris Rogers.
The Race 12 back-up pace carries a $1,800 purse with Machinthesand holding the coveted rail position for driver Ken Murphy, trainer Hughie Murphy and Summerisde owners Noonan Holdings Ltd., and Russell & Karen Noonan. Red Shores Summerside's leading driver, Campbell, will steer Bet Er All from Post 5 for Ralph Sweet of O'Leary.
