Vernon Feature To Dreas Good Powow
John MacDonald mapped out the winning trip for Dreas Good Powow in Thursday’s $9,000 featured event at Vernon Downs for filly and mare pacers.
Bye Bye Michelle (Chris Lems) set early fractions of :26.4, :55.2 and 1:23.3 while MacDonald and Dreas Good Powow savoured their pocket trip. MacDonald his charge to the outside late and the mare responded by winning in 1:51.3 over Bye Bye Michelle and Graceful Vision.
The seven-year-old daughter of Squaws Fella, who is owned by J P Stables and trained by MacDonald, won for the eighth time this season and for the 27th time in her career. She paid $4.90 to win.
MacDonald, Vernon's leading driver, celebrated a five-win performance on the eight-race card thanks to tallies with Yule Love It ($3.90), I Saw Red ($4.70), Axios ($3.20) and Rockin Show ($5.60).
Live racing returns to live racing on Friday with a 10-race card starting at 6:45 p.m.
