Tamarind Sails To Meadows Victory
Tamarind zipped to the front from post seven and never had an anxious moment as he rolled to victory in Wednesday’s (October 18) $15,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life Handicap Trot.
Tamarind needed to trot a swift :27.4 first quarter to reach the early lead, but after Aaron Merriman gave him a :29.4 second-quarter breather, he was home free, prevailing in 1:55.1. Maximum Credit shot the Lightning Lane for second, 1-3/4 lengths back, while the first-over Monte Cristo Spur finished third.
Bill Bercury trains and owns Tamarind, a nine-year-old son of Angus Hall-Spicegirl Kosmos who won for the 61st time in his career and extended his lifetime bankroll to $926,884.
Dave Palone piloted four winners on the 12-race card, including three for trainer Ron Burke.
