Chestnut Schofield Sizzles At Mohawk
Going into Thursday’s assignment Chestnut Schofield was running out of time to find the winner’s circle this season, but he came through and won with authority in his second start since a private purchase.
Chestnut Schofield, who was purchased last month by Ed and Ashleigh Hensley, powered to the top from Post 3 in his $18,000 conditioned assignment and kept on rolling to the eye-catching score.
The four-year-old son of Muscle Mass-Beyond Limits powered through panels of :27.1, :55.3 and 1:24.2 before kicking home in :28.3 to win by 3-1/4 lengths over Kameran Hanover in 1:53. Third prize went to Hill Yes.
It was a lifetime best performance for the three-time winner. The lion’s share of the loot pushed his lifetime earnings over $80,000.
