Beautiful Sin Tops Day 2 In Lexington

After Rifleman topped the opening night of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale in Kentucky by attracting $330,000 from Courant, Inc., trotting filly Beautiful Sin commanded a bid of $480,000 to top the second session of the sale, held Wednesday evening (October 4).

Hip 239 Beautiful Sin attracted $480,000 from agent Robert Lindstrom of Sweden. The first foal of Sina is by 2009 Hambletonian winner Muscle Hill; the Pennsylvania-eligible filly was consigned by Northwood Bloodstock Agency, for Jeff Gural's Allerage Farm.

Diamond Creek Racing of Wellsville, Pa. paid $330,000 for Hip 130 Spectrum, whom Diamond Creek Farm consigned. He is the first foal of 2012 Dan Patch winner Somwhereovrarainbow and by A Rocknroll Dance.

Hip 180 Money Never Rests went to the Determination Stable of Montréal for $260,000. The son of Somebeachsomewhere is the first foal of Lady Be Great (Western Ideal) and was consigned by Preferred Equine, Inc.

Lindstrom was also the top bidder on Hip 221 Practical Cat at $230,000. Practical Cat was consigned by Cane Run Farm; the son of Muscle Hill is the third foal out of Powell Blue Chip and her first colt.

Reijo Liljendahl of Sweden purchased Hip 103 Gerry for $225,000 from consigning agent Vieux Carre Farms. Gerry, by Muscle Hill and the first colt out of Viva Las Lindy, is a full brother to multiple stakes winner Evelyn.

Hip 194 Im All Pink attracted $210,000 from Jimmy Takter, bidding on behalf of the Pinkman Group of East Windsor, N.J. The full sister of world champion and 2015 O’Brien Award winner Pinkman is by Explosive Matter and is the fourth foal out of Margie Seelster. She was consigned by Midland Acres, Inc. Takter also placed the winning bid of $200,000 for Hip 218 Muscle T, a daughter of Muscle Hill and Platinum T.

Another 29 horses attracted bids of at least $100,000. In all, 158 yearlings passed through the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion ring through the second session. Total sales for the evening were $12.1 million, for an average purchase price of $76,873.

The sale continues through Saturday (October 7), with the third session scheduled for Thursday evening (October 5) at 7:00 p.m.
