Harrington To Host Delaware Finals

Four $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund finals for two-year-old pacers and trotters will headline a rich Wednesday, October 4 program at Harrington Raceway featuring approximately $500,000 in total purses.

Five two-year-olds go into the final events unbeaten including Jeff and David Clark’s Gracefullyforgiven (9-5, Art Stafford, Jr.) in the filly pacing final, slated second on the 13-race program and is the second leg of the early pick four. The Roddys Bags Again filly is 3-for-3 in her career for co-owner/trainer Jeff Clark who will start from post two and have her first showdown with Darrell and Leah Lewis’ Pedal Power (7-2, Tim Tetrick) won swept her eliminations.

A pair of unbeaten trotting fillies will clash in their final, race four, as Chambers Racing, Cinbrew Ent, and BCJM Inc’s Vandalous (pp 2, 2-1, Tetrick) and Howard Taylor, Thomas Lazzaro, Mike Casalino and Dylan Davis’ Déjà Vu Blue (pp 6, 7-5, Ross Wolfenden) are primed for their first matchup after each won both of their respective elimination events. Vandalous, conditioned by Nick Callahan, is a daughter of JM Vangogh while Déjà vu Blue, trained by co-owner Davis, is from the first crop of Anders Bluestone.

The eighth race is the male trotting final, which has a likely short-priced favourite in unbeaten Bosston Cruiser (7-5, Jon Roberts) for owner/trainer Andrew Glassmeyer. The Don Boss Vita gelding is 3-for-3 in his career and drew post three.

The 10th race is the first leg of the late pick four will culminate the finals as undefeated colt Transitioning Joy (7-5, Montrell Teague) drew post four for owners Joy and George Teague in the male pacing final. The Barber Pole colt has won his previous three races for trainer Clyde Francis.

There is also a pair of $20,000 consolation events on the program. Post time is 5 p.m.
