Ariana G Extends Lead In Poll
The Week 19 results from the 2017 Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown Standardbred Poll are in, and Ariana G, who is atop the list for the second consecutive week, has widened her lead.
The three-year-old Muscle Hill filly overtook Fear The Dragon atop the poll in Week 18, as she garnered 330 points, which was 12 more than the North America Cup winner.
Ariana G’s lead is now up to 33, as she sits at the top of the list with 337 points overall. Fear The Dragon sits second for the second consecutive week with 304 points. Two-year-old trotting filly Manchego has leapt from fifth in the poll to third and currently has 227 points.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll is voted on by harness racing media representatives that cover North American Standardbred racing.
The rankings are based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The U.S. Harness Writers Association votes in December on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year. The Dan Patch Awards are separate from the O'Brien Awards, which recognize Canada's top Standardbreds of a given racing season.
