Tajmeallover Takes Streak To Northlands
While the venue changed, the result was the same for Open pacing mare Tajmeallover, who continued her win streak at Northlands Park on Friday night (September 29).
After opening panels of :28.3 and :58.2, Tajmeallover swept up from third down the backstretch to take the lead at the 1:26.3 third quarter marker and drew off by four and three-quarter lengths in the $9,000 feature. The six-year-old Tajma Hall-Watch Over Me mare notched her fifth win in a row and 39th victory lifetime, stopping the clock in 1:55 flat.
Driver J.F. Gagne also shares ownership of the homebred mare with Peter Van Seggelen, Carl Warnaar and Tapron Holdings Ltd. Trained by Marjorie Dumont, Tajmeallover has won 10 of her 16 starts this year while banking $56,317.
Sent postward as the 1-5 betting favourite, she paid $2.50 to win. The pocket-riding Nighttraintovegas (Mike Hennessy) collared early leader Showtime Terror (Brandon Campbell) for the runner-up honours.
