Purse Increase At Rideau Carleton
Commencing October 1, purses at Rideau Carleton Raceway will increase 25 per cent.
“Good news has been a long time coming,” said racing manager Peter Andrusek. “Over the past year’s consultations, purse parity with the other signature Ontario tracks was the clear horse people’s priority. These results fill the bill!”
This announcement comes after Rideau Carleton’s recent membership in the Ontario Standardbred Alliance.
“I now believe we have developed the foundation to grow our racing, capitalizing on all the synergies that will become available within the Alliance," stated Rideau Carleton Raceway Director, Andrew Wright. "We must recognize the persistent and dedicated support of Cal Bricker at the OLG, Rob Cook formerly at Ontario Racing, Jamie Martin and all the Alliance partners, Gord McDonald and John MacMillan representing our horse people and Ben Frenette in our race office.
"Most of all, I want to thank all our horse people for their patience, commitment and loyalty through these challenging times.”
The average card will offer total purses in the range of $65,000. Rideau Carleton Raceway races every Thursday and Sunday with a first post of 6:30 p.m.
