D Gs Camme Delivers At Charlottetown
D Gs Camme, the former dominate force on Canada's east coast invitational circuit, mowed down his foes in the $2,400 feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park on Saturday, September 23.
Gilles Barrieau sat behind the two-time Governor's Plate champion as he stayed on the rail the majority of the mile before using the passing the lane to defeat pacesetter Carracci Hanover and driver Jason Hughes in 1:54.2. It was just the fifth start of the season for D Gs Camme as he scored his first win of the 2017 season for the training double for Jackie Matheson, who does the training for owners Ron Matheson, Tom Clark and Quentin and Hal Bevan of Charlottetown. The Saturday-night feature saw Carracci Hanover finish second with Likely To Win finishing third.
In the $2,250 Open Mare Pace, Good Luck Kathy was victorious for driver Jason Hughes, conditioner Jennifer Trainor and owner Danny Birt of Stratford. Race favourite Shadows Mystery was second with Prettyndangerous third.
