Enterprise Delivers, Hambletonian Final Set
Enterprise atoned for his loss in the Goodtimes final with a solid and confident mile in the second $100,000 Hambletonian elimination.
Tim Tetrick forged on from the inside to the front, moving around Achille Duharas (Yannick Gingras) to set the pace. Favoured What The Hill (David Miller) settled into third early but made a bid for the lead down the backside, and cleared before the :55.4 half.
Tetrick grabbed hold of Enterprise while Perfect Spirit (Ake Svanstedt) made a first-over bid, with Sortie (Andrew McCarthy) on his back and Devious Man (Andy Miller) third over through a 1:24 third station. Heading for home, What The Hill started to falter slightly and drifted out to provide Enterprise a lane down the rail. That gap was exactly what was needed as Enterprise geared up and opened up. Devious Man showed late trot off cover but came up short as Enterprise hit the wire in a lifetime best 1:52.
Devious Man, Perfect Spirit, What The Hill and Dover Dan also advance to the $1 million final.
Marcus Melander trains lightly-raced Enterprise (Chapter Seven - Shes Gone Again) for Courant AB of Delray Beach, Fla. He's now six for eight lifetime.
After the second elimination, the field was drawn for the $1 million Hambletonian Final.
