Marohn Jr. Wins Five Races At Tioga
Time Out Im Tired used a late rally to capture Tioga Downs's featured $12,000 Open Pace on Sunday (July 30), which was one of five wins on the program for driver Jim Marohn Jr.
Hot Rod Dylan (Mike Simons) got the jump on the Open field and set all the early fractions of :27, :55.2 and 1:22.4. Meanwhile, Time Out Im Tired, who is owned by William Mears and Janine McIlvain while trained by Joe Skowyra, rode the whole way in the pocket. Marohn Jr. found an opening at the pylons and steered the five-year-old son of Artiscape right by to just nip the even-money favourite, Hot Rod Dylan, in 1:50.3. Dash Of Danger (Jim Meittinis) finished third. Time Out Im Tired won for the fifth time this season.
Marohn Jr. made four other trips to the winner's circle -- first with Tailgunner Hanover ($5.30) and then with Winyard Hanover ($8.90). His last two followed his Open Pace win, with Lyons Johnny ($6.60) and Owosso Flash ($16.60).
Live racing returns to Tioga on Friday (August 4) at 6:45 p.m.
